Sri Sri University Salutes Doctors, Unveils Vision for Advanced Ayurvedic Healthcare
Every year, Doctors' Day serves as an opportunity to recognize the unwavering dedication, compassion and selfless service of medical professionals who devote their lives to safeguarding the health and well-being of society. Doctors are not only healers of diseases but also custodians of hope, humanity and resilience. Whether responding to everyday medical needs or standing fearlessly on the frontlines during health emergencies, their contribution remains invaluable.
Reaffirming
this spirit of gratitude, Sri Sri University celebrated Doctors' Day with great
enthusiasm at its Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital in
Cuttack, Odisha. The event brought together faculty members, healthcare
professionals, students and university leadership to honour the commitment of
doctors while reaffirming the University's vision of strengthening quality
Ayurvedic healthcare in India.
Addressing
the gathering, the dignitaries described doctors as the true guardians of
health, hope and humanity. They acknowledged that the patience, compassion and
dedication with which doctors serve their patients make their profession one of
the noblest forms of service.
Established in 2019, the Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital has rapidly emerged as a centre of excellence in Ayurvedic education and healthcare.
The institution recently received accreditation from the National
Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), a
significant milestone reflecting its commitment to quality healthcare
standards. The hospital currently functions as a 100-bed multi-specialty
facility, with an ambitious roadmap to expand into a 250-bed state-of-the-art
multi-specialty hospital by 2030.
Founder
Dean Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Panda shared that since its inception, the
hospital has successfully treated more than 90,000 patients, demonstrating the
growing trust of the community in evidence-based Ayurvedic healthcare and the
institution's patient-centric approach.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the felicitation of 55 accomplished doctors of the Ayurvedic College in recognition of their dedication, professional excellence and invaluable contribution to patient care.
The awards
were presented in the presence of the University's newly appointed President
Sri Aadesh Goyal, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Tej Partap, Medical
Superintendent Prof. (Dr.) Rabinarayan Tripathy, Dean Prof. (Dr.) Kshirabdhi
Tanaya Rautray and Administrative Officer Kaushik Kapuria.
The dignitaries felicitated faculty members and doctors from various departments of the College in recognition of their dedicated service and contribution to Ayurvedic healthcare.
From the Department of Kayachikitsa, Prof. (Dr.) Niranjan Subramanya, Dr. Sanjib Kumar Das, Dr. Preetimayee Sahoo, Dr. Ajay Kumar Dharmabrat Acharya and Dr. Akshay Kumar were honoured.
From the Department of Panchakarma, Prof. (Dr.) Padmalochana Sankhua, Dr. Snigdha Rani Patra, Dr. Dibyajyoti Moharana and Dr. Sunandakshi Biswal were felicitated.
From the Department of Prasuti Tantra & Stree Roga, Prof. (Dr.) Laxmipriya Dei, Dr. Satyasmita Jena, Dr. Bhagyashree Purna Satpathy and Dr. Devika Srinivasan Divakaran were honoured.
From the Department of Shalakya Tantra, Dr. Shivkant Sharma, Dr. Meera Panigrahi and Dr. Priyanka Satapathy were felicitated. From the Department of Kaumarabhritya, Prof. (Dr.) Durga Prasad Dash, Prof. (Dr.) Puspitabala Jena and Dr. Sonali Nayak were honoured.
From the Department of Shalya Tantra, Prof. (Dr.) Rabinarayan Tripathy, Dr. Rajesh Maharatha, Dr. Kukulea Nikhil Kaushik and Dr. Ankita Padhi were felicitated.
From the Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga, Prof. (Dr.)
Ramakanta Rout, Dr. Dhruva Prasad and Dr. Priyanka Priyadarshini Sahu, and from
the Department of Agada Tantra, Dr. Debashish Sathpathy and Dr. Moumita Tewari
were also honoured.
The
programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Rabinarayan Tripathy,
Medical Superintendent and Professor of the Department of Shalya Tantra.
Founder Dean Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Panda highlighted the remarkable
achievements of the institution, recalling its exceptional contribution during
the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that the hospital secured the third position
among Ayurveda institutions across India for its exemplary healthcare services
during the pandemic, an achievement that earned appreciation from Gurudev Sri
Sri Ravi Shankar.
Speaking
on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Tej Partap encouraged doctors to
continue pursuing excellence through continuous learning, compassionate service
and unwavering professional ethics. He emphasized that the future of healthcare
depends not only on clinical expertise but also on empathy and a lifelong commitment
to healing.
In his
address, President Sri Aadesh Goyal shared a personal reflection, saying that
many of the finest individuals he has encountered in his life have been
doctors. He expressed his deep appreciation for the medical fraternity and
remarked that he could never forget the invaluable contributions doctors have
made to his life as well as to society at large.
The
programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Administrative Officer Kaushik
Kapuria. The occasion also witnessed a collective resolve to further strengthen
the University's healthcare infrastructure and transform the Sri Sri College of
Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital into a 250-bed state-of-the-art
multi-specialty healthcare institution by 2030.
The celebration served not only as a tribute to the medical fraternity but also as a reminder that compassionate healthcare is the foundation of a healthy and progressive society. By honouring its doctors and investing in the future of Ayurvedic medicine, Sri Sri University continues to reaffirm its commitment to excellence in education, research, patient care and holistic healthcare for the nation.
