BIMSTEC Youth Leadership Exchange Programme 2026: A Confluence of Vision, Innovation and Regional Harmony at Sri Sri University

In an inspiring celebration of youth leadership, intellectual collaboration and cultural unity, the prestigious BIMSTEC Youth Leadership Exchange Programme 2026 unfolded with remarkable grandeur at Sri Sri University on 29–30 April 2026. The two-day international congregation emerged as a vibrant platform where ideas transcended borders, cultures intertwined in mutual respect, and the leaders of tomorrow came together to envision a more collaborative and sustainable future for the BIMSTEC region.

Youth delegates representing Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan assembled under one roof, carrying with them not only the aspirations of their respective nations but also a shared commitment toward regional cooperation, innovation, entrepreneurship and intercultural understanding. Against the serene and intellectually stimulating backdrop of the University campus, the programme evolved into a powerful dialogue of minds, values and transformative possibilities.

A Grand Beginning: Innovation Meets Cultural Heritage

The programme commenced with the spectacular “Navonmesh Exhibition,” an immersive showcase reflecting the multidisciplinary excellence and visionary ecosystem nurtured by the University. More than an exhibition, Navonmesh became a journey through the realms of innovation, sustainability, culture and scientific exploration.

Delegates enthusiastically explored a series of thoughtfully curated thematic zones, each narrating a unique story of creativity and progress. The SDG Pavilion stood as a compelling testimony to the institution’s unwavering dedication toward the Sustainable Development Goals, while the Agriculture & Natural Products Zone celebrated the harmony between ecological wisdom and scientific advancement.

The Art & Culture Gallery radiated the timeless richness of Indian heritage, blending artistic expression with philosophical depth. Simultaneously, the Student Achievements Corner inspired visitors with stories of academic excellence and youthful determination. The Startup & Innovation Hub reflected the entrepreneurial spirit thriving within the University ecosystem, while the Architecture & Sculpture Display captivated audiences through its fusion of aesthetics and structural ingenuity. Adding a holistic dimension to the experience, the Ayurveda & Wellness Showcase highlighted the enduring relevance of traditional healing systems in contemporary global discourse.

Together, these exhibits beautifully encapsulated the University’s larger mission - integrating ancient wisdom with modern innovation while fostering socially responsible and globally conscious education.

Voices of Wisdom and Visionary Leadership

The inaugural session resonated with intellectual depth and motivational fervor. Addressing the distinguished gathering, Sri Jai Chandran, Director of Karma Yoga, spoke eloquently about the transformative power of curiosity, inquiry and lifelong learning. His reflections emphasized that true leadership emerges not merely from authority, but from an unending quest for knowledge and self-evolution.

Adding profound inspiration to the occasion, Prof. Rajita Kulkarni, President of Sri Sri University, articulated the institution’s visionary philosophy: “Best of Odisha to the World and Best of the World to Odisha.” Her address encouraged delegates to embrace diversity, learn from global perspectives and cultivate leadership rooted in empathy, adaptability and cross-cultural understanding.

Swami Satyachaitanya, Director Operations, further enriched the dialogue by underscoring the critical role of innovation, entrepreneurship, skill development and multicultural collaboration in shaping a future defined by collective progress and meaningful global impact.

Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

The second day unfolded with an intellectually dynamic series of academic and leadership-oriented sessions that explored the rapidly changing global landscape. One of the most compelling highlights was the thought-provoking session titled “Leadership in the Age of AI: From Ideas to Institutions.”

Conducted by Prof. Rajita Kulkarni and moderated by Dr. Bharat Dash, the session examined the evolving dimensions of leadership amid the rise of artificial intelligence, geopolitical transformations and institutional innovation. The discussion challenged participants to rethink conventional paradigms of governance, education and nation-building in an increasingly technology-driven world.

Dr. Bharat Dash also introduced the Faculty of Eastern Knowledge Systems, emphasizing the immense global opportunities available for international students seeking interdisciplinary and culturally grounded education.

Further enriching the discourse, Dr. Satyajeet Arya delivered an insightful presentation on “Advancing the SDGs: University Initiatives & Impact,” showcasing the institution’s proactive contributions toward sustainable development and community engagement. Meanwhile, Ms. Kaamya Mishra passionately highlighted the indispensable role of youth in driving innovation, entrepreneurship and social transformation across nations.

Celebrating Young Changemakers and Entrepreneurial Excellence

Among the most engaging segments of the programme was the vibrant panel discussion titled “Stories of Impact: Young Entrepreneurs & Change-makers Shaping the Future.” The session brought together pioneering innovators from the SSUIF ecosystem whose entrepreneurial journeys embodied resilience, creativity and social commitment.

The panel featured Mr. Abinash Sahoo, CTO of BonV Aero, Dr. Biswa Ranjan Pradhan, CEO of Organoponix, and Ms. Nishita Baliarsingh, CIO of Nexus Power. Moderated by Mr. Bhagabati Prasad Pattnaik, the discussion illuminated the realities of startup ecosystems, the courage required to pursue innovation-led initiatives and the profound social impact that entrepreneurship can create.

Delegates also engaged in meaningful interactions with patent filers, published authors, innovators and research scholars. These exchanges fostered an atmosphere of collaborative learning and opened pathways for future academic partnerships and regional cooperation.

A Collective Effort Behind a Grand Success

The programme successfully fulfilled its mission of fostering regional cooperation, intercultural understanding, innovation and youth empowerment among BIMSTEC nations. More importantly, it reaffirmed the growing role of Sri Sri University as a global center for collaborative learning, sustainable development and academic diplomacy.
