Organized from 18th to 22nd February 2026 at the university’s sprawling campus in Cuttack, Odisha, the five-day mega event brought together the spirit of competition, collaboration, and camaraderie on an unprecedented scale.

A Grand Gathering of Universities and Young Athletes

Veerodaya-2026 witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 1,000 student-athletes representing 23 universities from Odisha and other states across India. The diversity of institutions and regions added to the vibrancy of the festival, turning the Sri Sri University campus into a melting pot of cultures, strategies, and sporting styles.

The event featured high-energy competitions across cricket, football, volleyball, kabaddi, and badminton, with volleyball, kabaddi, and badminton being conducted in both men’s and women’s categories. The inclusion of women’s events across multiple disciplines highlighted the festival’s commitment to gender equality and inclusive sports development.

Cricket Glory for the Hosts

Cricket, often described as the heartbeat of Indian sports, delivered some of the most thrilling moments of Veerodaya-2026. Displaying tactical brilliance and team cohesion, Sri Sri University emerged as the champions, delighting home supporters with a well-deserved victory.

Equally captivating was the women’s volleyball final, where Utkal University emerged victorious after a fiercely contested match against National Law University Odisha. The match stood as a testament to the rising standard of women’s volleyball at the university level.

Kabaddi and Football: Strength Meets Strategy

Kabaddi, a sport deeply rooted in Indian tradition, drew massive crowds. In the men’s kabaddi final, SOA University demonstrated exceptional strength, agility, and tactical awareness to defeat C. V. Raman Global University and lift the trophy.

The initiative received lakhs of views, extending the reach of the festival far beyond the campus and setting a new benchmark for university sports events. By fostering healthy competition, encouraging inclusivity, and embracing digital innovation, Sri Sri University has set a shining example for inter-university sports in India.
