Sri Sri University Hosts “Sankalp-2047” Principals’ Meet in Raipur: Emphasising Holistic and Value-Based Education
In a rapidly changing educational landscape where academic excellence must walk hand in hand with emotional intelligence and ethical grounding, Sri Sri University reaffirmed its visionary commitment by successfully organising the Principals’ Meet titled “Sankalp-2047” in Raipur on 22nd February 2026. The programme brought together more than fifty principals and senior educators from higher secondary schools, creating a powerful forum for dialogue, reflection, and collaboration on the future of education in India. Rooted in the long-term national vision of building a strong, inclusive, and value-driven India by the year 2047, the conference aligned itself closely with the transformative goals of the National Education Policy 2020.
The core philosophy of Sankalp-2047 drew inspiration from
the educational vision of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, which emphasises that education
is far more than the transmission of information. It is a deeply transformative
process that nurtures character, emotional resilience, compassion and a sense
of responsibility toward society. Throughout the day-long engagement, speakers
and participants reiterated that true education must prepare students not only
for careers but also for life, equipping them with inner strength, clarity of
thought and strong human values.
A distinctive feature of the conference was the seamless
integration of the principles of stress-free living and inner empowerment
propagated by the Art of Living Foundation. These principles were not presented
as abstract ideals but as practical tools that can be meaningfully incorporated
into school education. The discussions highlighted the growing pressures faced
by students and teachers alike and underlined the urgent need to create
learning environments that are supportive, balanced, and emotionally nurturing.
The deliberations during Sankalp-2047 focused extensively
on the implementation of NEP 2020 and the evolving paradigm of Education 5.0,
which seeks to harmonise technology with humanity. Educators engaged in
thoughtful conversations on innovative teaching methodologies, experiential and
design-thinking-based learning, and the importance of interdisciplinary
approaches. Particular attention was given to contemporary challenges such as
increasing student stress, digital overexposure, and diminishing attention
spans. The consensus that emerged was clear: while technology and digital tools
are indispensable, they must be guided by wisdom, empathy, and a strong value
framework.
One of the most impactful segments of the conference was
the special module titled “Project Disha.” This thoughtfully designed
initiative aimed at empowering teachers by equipping them with practical
well-being tools and foundational counselling skills. Drawing from ancient
wisdom traditions as well as modern psychological practices, Project Disha
offered a structured approach to enhancing educator well-being. Participants
appreciated the recognition that teachers’ emotional health directly influences
classroom dynamics and student outcomes, and many expressed their intent to
adopt these practices within their institutions.
Addressing the gathering virtually, Swami Satyachaitanya,
Director Operations of Sri Sri University, strongly emphasised the need to
integrate values with academic excellence. He articulated the university’s
vision of building a stress-free and value-enriched society through an
education system that empowers teachers and students at a deeper human level.
His address resonated with the audience as he highlighted that education must
touch the heart as much as it trains the intellect, creating individuals who
are confident, compassionate, and socially responsible.
Adding a strategic and future-oriented perspective, Prof.
Dr. Biplab Kumar Biswal, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies, spoke about
the collaborative nature of education, stating that learning should foster
cooperation rather than unhealthy competition. He highlighted India’s pivotal
role in shaping the global future and discussed the transformative impact of
artificial intelligence and automation on emerging careers. He also referred to
the national target of increasing the Gross Enrolment Ratio in higher education
to fifty percent by 2035, stressing that institutions must prepare students not
only for employment but for lifelong adaptability in an ever-evolving world.
The conference also addressed the issue of stress
management with a practical orientation. Jayesh Daulatjada, Head of ICT,
delivered an insightful session titled “From Stress to Strength,” in which he
advocated the integration of simple breathing techniques into daily routines.
His session demonstrated how small yet consistent practices can significantly
enhance mental clarity, emotional balance, and productivity in both personal
and professional spheres, especially within demanding academic environments.
Further enriching the discourse, Pooja Jindal, faculty
member of the Art of Living Foundation, introduced participants to the
Intuition Process, an initiative designed to nurture intuitive abilities and
heightened awareness among young learners. She explained how intuitive
development can improve concentration, unlock latent talents, and enhance both
intellectual and emotional growth. Her presentation sparked keen interest among
educators who recognised the potential of such approaches in fostering holistic
student development.
As the conference drew to a close, there was a palpable
sense of shared purpose among the participants. The principals and educators
collectively resolved to implement actionable strategies within their
respective institutions, contributing meaningfully to the vision of
Sankalp-2047 as a progressive, inclusive, and value-driven educational
ecosystem. The emphasis throughout remained on translating ideas into practice
and ensuring that the spirit of the conference continues beyond the event
itself.
The leadership of Sri Sri University, including President
Prof. Rajita Kulkarni, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tejpartap, Director Operations
Swami Satyachaitanya, Executive Registrar Prof. Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma and Deputy
Director (HR) Mr. Jyotiranjan Gadnayak, expressed deep appreciation for the
successful execution of the programme. They commended the organising team for
creating a platform that effectively blended vision, wisdom, and practical
relevance.
The seamless arrangements and overall success of
Sankalp-2047 were made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Public
Relations and Admission Departments, with Manager Media Communications Mr.
Hitanshu Shekhar Mohanta playing a pivotal role in coordinating outreach and
communication strategies. The programme also witnessed active participation
from Art of Living Apex Member Mr. Sudhakar Rao, District Teacher Coordinator
Mr. Mahendra Gupta, Zone Teacher Coordinator Ms. Neeti Mishra, and Art of
Living State Media Coordinator Mr. Deependra Diwan, whose contributions
strengthened the spirit of collective engagement.
Sankalp-2047 ultimately stood as a powerful reminder that
the future of education lies in harmonising knowledge with wisdom and
innovation with values. By fostering meaningful dialogue among educators and
reinforcing the importance of holistic development, Sri Sri University once again
demonstrated leadership in shaping an educational movement that prepares
learners not just for professional success, but for a balanced, purposeful, and
socially conscious life.
